Stranger Things Season 4: Trailer Breakdown, Release Date, Is this the Final Season And All The Latest Update

Big surprise! We got an early Stranger Things season 4 trailer which was released on Valentine’s Day. In this post, we will reveal breakdown couple of easter eggs and we will reveal as to what would happen with season 4’s storyline.

Stranger Things Season 4: Trailer Breakdown

As you see the picture of Hawkins slowly turning into the upside-down. You also noticed that the camera pan-out a little bit with that season 4 logo flash up.

You see a clock counting down to midnight with the tones starting to chimes. That’s a reference to Doomsday Clock which is all about the countdown to total annihilation.

There was a turn of a guy used a lot during the Cold War between the Soviet Union and the USA. Obviously, in the context of stranger things, this is all about the final battle between Eleven and the Mind Flayer. Will their battle tear apart both dimensions?

Mutually assured telekinetic psychic destruction but the trademark upside-down, organic material growing over everything, the blue coloration of the tagline implies that the final battle will take place the upside-down.

Stranger Things Season 4: Is this the Final Season?

One of the reasons why they dropped it so early is because they need to start production on season 4 because the kids are aging up so quickly.

Within a year or two, they’re gonna look like the teenagers. So, this does seem like it’s going to be the final season of the show.

Stranger Things Season 4 is currently being worked by the Duffer brothers and they also hinted that it will be the final one for the show. In an interview with The Vulture, Ross Duffer said the following :

‘’We’re thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out. You just have to keep adjusting the story. Though I don’t know if we can justify something bad happening to them.’’

This contradicts earlier reports by Entertainment Weekly that the show could go beyond four seasons. However, with almost every actor going off onto some other projects, it seems unlikely that they will still remain in the show unless their wages increase to match their demand.

David Harbor who plays Hopper also spoke to TV Line about the importance of bowing out at the right time. He said he didn’t want the show to end up like The Walking Dead with there being no sight for the characters. So, it seems like it could all be over after this.

What could the next season will hold and is there anything that we can guess will happen in the upcoming release due to what we know?

Stranger Things tends to release during the month in which the season is set. The mention of Christmas at the end of season 3 makes it seem like this could likely be the time that it happens. There’s actually a lot of evidence to support its release around October which was the official release date.

Let’s understand this pattern. Season 1 was released in July, season 2 in October, and then season 3 in July again. So an October release for Stranger Things Season 4 makes sense.

It could be delayed slightly due to the pandemic outbreak and to coincide with Thanksgiving which too was paid lip service in season 3’s finale. This makes a lot of sense going off past release dates.

Stranger Things Season 4: Who is Returning To The Show?

All the kids have been confirmed to return whilst we don’t have any word on David Harbor.

In addition to this, there are rumors that Dr. Brenner will be back. Though he apparently died during season 1, his death was never shown on screen. Therefore, it’s pretty safe assumption to make that he’s alive as well.

It will be a safe assumption to make that characters will reunite once more.
